I’ll list down mega projects that still under construction around Sabah and lots of the projects are in Kota Kinabalu area.

Aeropod Train Station
Project to transform the only steam locomotive in Malaysia to the modern train. The project also upgrade the current train station in Tanjung Aru as transportation hub.
Cititel Express Hotel
The Cititel Express, Kota Kinabalu will be a new 12-story tower within Asia City located on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Rooms feature are anchored along efficiency with basic necessities, fast speed internet access complemented with self-service launderette, mini mart, and an all-day alfresco restaurant offering primarily local delicacies.
City Mall
Situated along Lintas highway the project already completed and touched by the modern design shopping mall.
Darvel Bay Plaza
The largest shopping mall in Lahad Datu will introduce a brand new shopping experience, offering an interesting mix of retail, supermarket, food court, homewares, IT, high fashion and modern cafes - all under one roof. Situated in Lahad Datu City.
Eastern Plaza
Situated in Tawau, Sabah and when its completion it would be the largest shopping complex cum hotel in Tawau.
Harbour City
Situated along Coastal Highway and the project consist 5 phase where include the convention center, shoplot, hotel, and the other future development.
Jesselton Point
A jetty point for tourist to rent a boat to go nearby island such as Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park or ride a speed boat to Labuan.
Jesselton Waterfront
A mega project to turn the old port into world-class waterfront destination. Situated in the old Sabah Port near Kota Kinabalu City.
Karamunsing Capital
Kinabalu Integrated Convention Centre
One of the mega project under (Sabah Development Corridor). Located near Sabah Foundation Building also known as the Menara Tun Mustapha.
KK Times Square and The Mall
Located along Coastal Highway, the KK Times Square is another signature offices and The Mall are shopping paradise for the shoppers. With 15 acre intergrated shopping mall, leisure, entertainment and hospitality hub.Build along the mall are 2 hotel blocks and 2 serviced apartment blocks.
Kota Kinabalu City Waterfront
A 2 kilometres seafront broadwalk will be the longest waterfront esplanade in Asia.
Kota Kinabalu International Airport
The currently the second busiest airport in Malaysia and will be the second largest airport after KLIA when its completion.
Kota Kinabalu Waterfront Pocket Park
Known as Segama Waterfront a new project by Kota Kinabalu City Hall.
Sandakan Harbour Square
Project to transform the Sandakan skyline. The project include the wet market, 5 star hotel cum with shopping complex and a esplanade.
South China Sea Place
Star City Complex
This shopping complex will be build near the Asia City Complex. The complex will have the cinema and bowling alley and it will be the main attration.
Suria Sabah
The project will complete end of 2009. The frontage glass dome will be the main attraction to the mall itself and Suria Sabah will be the second largest mall in Kota Kinabalu after 1 Borneo in term of it size.
